Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey

I know I’ve never mentioned it here before, but one of the most beloved computer games that I’ve ever played is The Longest Journey.

Released in 2000, this PC game received numerous awards by IGN, Gamespy and Gamespot just to name a few. The game was so enthralling with an engaging storyline and most important, lovable and memorable characters that you came to grow and love. April Ryan, Captain Horatio Nebevay and Crow became close companions that I would look forward to visiting.  So you can imagine my disdain when the game ended in a cliff hanger that left fans in the dark for six years until the next game, Dreamfall was finally released in 2006.

Dreamfall introduced new characters and finally shed light on what had happened in the hiatus since The Longest Journey and I was instantly transported back into the hypnotic worlds of Stark and Arcadia.

Fast forward to today, almost seven years since Dreamfall, and it has just been announced that Red Thread Games and Ragnar Tørnquist have created a Kickstarter campaign to release Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey! What’s even more exciting is that they are offering amazing incentives for everyone who contributes from a $5 donation for a JOURNEYMAN forum badge on the official forums and three beautiful, high-resolution wallpapers to $10,000 and up that features receiving a personalized AUDIO CALL-OUT from one of the characters in the game, attending the launch party (and traditional Norwegian ‘nachspiel’ after-party) in Oslo with a friend and so much other amazing collectible  items your heart with burst with joy.

They need to reach $850,000 by March 10th and with 12,050 backers raising $767,945 so far, they just might make it!

I’ll be contributing for sure! Will you? Check out their behind the scenes video here to see what they are planning to create.
